2020 SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS



1. Cumbria Kart Racing Club Ltd will organize an Interclub and Clubman Bambino Permit Race meeting on Club meeting dates at Lakeland Stadium, Rowrah, Cumbria. The Meeting will be held in accordance with the General Championship Prescriptions of the Royal Automobile Club Motorsport UK (incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA), the following Supplementary Regulations and any final instructions issued by Cumbria Kart Racing Club Ltd.

2. Motorsport UK Permit No CH2020/K031(D) Motorsport UK Track Licence No. K2020136

3. The event is open to all members of ABkC and NKF registered Clubs, including WSKC, SYKC, MBKC, SKRC, TVKC, DKC, WMKC, IOMKC, ChKRC and RKRC. All competitors must produce a current competition licence, medical certificate if required and a valid club membership card. Competitors under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by the holder of a Kart PG Entrant’s Licence who must sign on as the Entrant of that competitor.

4. Eligible classes are as detailed in the 2020 Motorsport UK Kart Race Year Book and any KTE as appropriate.

5. The meeting will incorporate Championship Rounds as detailed in the raceday programme.

6. Programme will be as follows: - all timings are approximate and will be confirmed in the race day programme. Signing-on and scrutineering 08.00 – 09.00 hours, Drivers Briefing 09.15 hours, Practice 09.30 hours, First race (approx) 10.00 hours

7. There will be 3 heats and at least one final for each competitor or one timed practice and two heats and a final. Grids will be determined by computer or by timed qualifying and by merit for the finals. C.K.R.C. reserve the right to alter grids on the day. Maximum grid is 34 (Gearbox 28 and Bambino 17) . Race duration and Officials will be as detailed in the raceday programme. Trophies will be presented in the ratio of 1 – 4, novices in the ratio of 1-3 in each class (numbers taken from close of official entries). The Bambino class will be over one timed qualifying, two timed trials and a final. Points will be awarded as per the Motorsport UK Bambino Regulations to determine the race winner.

8. Drivers who fail to take their correct positions on the dummy grid when instructed will start at the rear of the grid. Grids will close at the start of the preceding race.

9. Judicial proceedings will be in accordance with the Motorsport UK Blue Book and the 2020 CIK-FIA System and Karting Penalty table of mandatory penalties issued by the Motorsport UK.. The right to protest or appeal lies with the entrant or driver in accordance with the General Regulations of the Motorsport UK.

10 Each competitor will be allowed only one set of slick tyres per meeting with the exception of the Iame and Honda Cadets. These tyres will be marked at scrutineering. If any tyre is damaged during the meeting the chief scrutineers will allow a replacement at his discretion, on the grounds of safety and whilst under parc ferme conditions only. The scrutineers may make fuel tests. Any driver suspected of having ineligible fuel after these tests will be obliged to pay a minimum fee of £500 deposit for an Motorsport UK approved fuel test and the race results will be declared provisional. Following such approved Motorsport UK test where the fuel is found to be ineligible, the driver will be excluded from the results and his/her conduct may reported to the Motorsport UK for consideration by a disciplinary tribunal. Motorsport UK regulation D34.1 and Kart Race Yearbook 2020, App.4, section B, reg. B.1.1. applies. The scrutineers may make tyre tests. Tests may be carried out by a portable detector to detect the application of illegal chemical substances applied to tyres, in contravention of Motorsport UK regulation U16.9.6 as per Kart Race Yearbook 2020, App 4, Section G. At the discretion of the Chief Scrutineer, standard parts (eg ignition) or tyres (similar or better tread depth) may be supplied by the organizers and must, if requested, be exchanged. These parts/tyres must be returned in good working order at the end of the meeting, unless the entrants part/tyres has been impounded for testing. Tyres are not allowed to be left at the circuit – each competitor must remove his/her own tyres. Tyres are barcoded and owners traceable – any tyres found left at the circuit will be disposed of and the owner charged the disposal fee paid by CKRC.

For the Iame and Honda classes, CKRC Championship competitors are only allowed two sets of new tyres for the whole year -

One set from February to June and one set from July to October. This means that new tyres are only allowed for the February and July meeting and at no other time must new tyres be used. Visiting competitors are not allowed to use new tyres on any race day – with the exception of February and July meetings when new tyres will be allowed. At any other time, any visitor or club member doing any championship round cannot use slick tyres that exceed a maximum of 3.8m tread depth. Wet tyres are open.

11. A yellow line is painted 25m ahead of the start line. It is forbidden to accelerate before having crossed that line and any breach may result in a penalty up to and including exclusion, Motorsport UK regulation U7.8.3. The starter, along with the Chief Timekeeper, will be a Judge of Fact in respect of race starts. Race starts may be standing or rolling.

12. All results will be published as soon as possible after each race, on the notice board at Race Control. Lapscoring will be by means of transponders which will be TAG HEUER . Transponders MUST BE fitted to all karts and it is the responsibility of the driver to ensure that the transponder is working correctly, the signal is not obscured in any way and the battery is sufficiently charged. These transponders will be used for lapscoring and any timed practice and must be in place and working for practice and race days. Transponders not fitted or not working correctly may result in the competitor not being lap scored or timed and no finishing position will given. Anyone not owning their own transponder will be able to hire one for the meeting from CKRC at a charge of £10.00. Anyone hiring a transponder from CKRC will be responsible for its safe return to CKRC and, if lost or damaged, must pay the full costs of repair or replacing the transponder. For all classes, the first and subsequent heat positions will be allocated by means of a computerized or manual randomized programme allocating a fair share of front/middle/back or by Timed Qualifying if used.

13. SCRUTINEERING DOCUMENT: All competitors will be given a scrutineering document for which they have sole responsibility to complete correctly as per Motorsport UK U16.5.1 and U16.5.2 and Kart Race Yearbook Appendix 4B including seal numbers if used, and in Formula TKM the chassis plate number, and hand to the Scrutineer at pre-race scrutineering.  (The Chief Scrutineer hereby has limited discretion to correct obvious typographical errors on the card at Clubman/Nat B events) Competitors must use allocated race numbers and this must be displayed on all 4 sides of the kart. Driver and one mechanic only will be allowed into the scrutineering and parc ferme areas.

14. Noise tests will be undertaken throughout the day, and competitors must conform to the noise regulations as laid down in the current Motorsport UK Kart Race Yearbook. Any competitor found to be excessively noisy will be removed from the circuit.

New Motorsport UK regulations no longer allow the running of engines in the pits. The only time an engine can be started is with the permission of the chief scrutineer in a designated area and for a maximum of 10 seconds. The designated area for starting engines, with the Chief Scrutineer permission, is in the parc ferme out bay.

15. Kart Race Year Book regulation App 4 B.12 – No metal sprocket protectors are allowed at CKRC – plastic only.

16. CKRC Championship points will be scored as detailed in the CKRC Sporting Regulations for 2020.







17. The entry fee is £55.00 for members and £65.00 for non-members. All cheques/postal orders should be made payable to CKRC Ltd. The Club has the right to refuse any entry not accompanied by the correct fee or not on the correct entry form. Entries will also be accepted via our online entry system. Entry fees will only be refunded if withdrawn prior to the closing date, minus an administration charge of £10.00, transferred entries will also be subject to an administration charge of £10.00. Entries withdrawn after the closing date will not be entitled to a refund. All telephone/fax /email entries will be charged an administration fee if the hard copy and cheque are not received in the post. Entries open forthwith and close after the first post MONDAY prior to the meeting. Should a meeting be cancelled or abandoned, a £10.00 administration charge will be levied on all entry fees. The secretary of the meeting, to whom all entries should be sent is; MRS. MARION FELL, 50 NEWTON ROAD, DALTON-IN-FURNESS, CUMBRIA. LA15 8NF. Please enclose a SAE for acceptance of entry. Late entries may be accepted, at the discretion of the Competition Secretary, to fill grids but may be subject to a late entry fee. Any cheques returned from the bank for any reason will be subject to an administration charge of £15. Any trophies not collected at the trophy presentation at the end of the meeting will be forfeited.

18. Junior classes may have incident marshals at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course, provided that they have signed on and wear identification jacket as supplied by CKRC.

19. If a competitor does not complete any lap in the correct manner, i.e.missed chicane, the Clerk of the Course will decided if an unfair advantage has been gained and, if deemed so, that lap will be disallowed and the competitor deemed to be one lap down. Any driver leaving the track more than twice, for whatever the reason, may be excluded from the race. (Q14.4.2 applies)

20. Competitors are reminded that flag signals may be replaced with steady or flashing lights to replicate a stationary or waved flag signal.   Where a light signal is used instead of a flag signal, the penalty for failing to comply with the light signal shall be the same as the penalty for failing to comply with a flag signal as detailed in section C of the Competitors Yearbook. All warning flags may be given by an appropriately coloured panel digital display (Q15.1).

21. The scales and check weights provided for competitors use are to be deemed correct on the day.

22. No pit bikes, push bikes, model cars, roller skates, scooters, etc. are allowed in the pits (with the exception of official vehicles) Parents are responsible for the behaviour of their children. Vehicles may only be driven in the pits by a person holding that appropriate RTA licence. Any person found to be bringing the Club into disrepute or damaging any area of the pits or track will be subject to the disciplinary procedures of CKRC Ltd.

23. THE CLIMBING OF THE QUARRY BANKS AROUND THE CIRCUIT IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. THESE AREAS ARE STRICTLY OUT OF BOUNDS. ALL GENERATORS IN THE PITS MUST BE TURNED OFF BY 11P.M.

24.A fire extinguisher, to Kart Race Yearbook Appendix 4, B15,must be carried in a competitors vehicle at all times whilst in the pits.

25. Competitors should note that information will be held on computer and is for CKRC information only. A photographer may be present on the day – anyone not wishing to be photographed should inform the Competition Secretary at signing on.

26. By entering for the meeting, all competitors, and their associates, commit to the Motorsport UK Race ‘n’ Respect campaign and agree to positively promote and demonstrate the Racing Code. Penalties may be imposed on any person not observing this.

If any person, driver or connected team members/guardians, is found to be using threatening or abusive language or behaviour at any time in the confines of the stadium, CKRC officials reserve the right to have said people removed from the stadium and they will be reported to the general committee who have the right to impose any disciplinary action deemed necessary on that persons or persons.

27. Dogs will be allowed in the pit area but must be kept on a lead AT ALL TIMES. Dogs are not allowed on the track at any time.

28. CKRC Complaints procedure – any complaints must be made in writing to the Club Secretary who will bring up the matter at the next available Committee meeting. A reply from the committee will then be send within 10 days of said meeting. The outcome of the Committee decision is final and there will be no further grounds for appeal.

29. A Team is a commercial race company or racing team hosting drivers in providing race services or covered accommodation in the Championship and receiving financial gain where the principal is not also the PG Entrant licence holder. This includes the use of team names, team sticker kits and team race suits/clothing: The Team will:(a) hold a Motorsport UK Entrant licence;(b) have at least £2 million Public Liability Insurance;(c) uphold the values of the Race’n’Respect Code; (d) act in a professional manner; (e) adhere to the Motorsport UK Safeguarding Policy; (f) attend all Drivers Briefings; and (g) nominate one member of the Team as the Team Representative at each meeting.It is recommended the Team has:(a) a designated team member as an L2 qualified coach;(b) a designated UKAD Certified Advisor.(c) be responsible for carrying out and documenting a risk assessment of their activities.
