CASUAL COVID SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Part-time, casual as required
SALARY: Scale 3 £10.05 per hour
LOCATION: City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College
This job description is not a comprehensive definition of the post. Discussions will take place on a regular basis to clarify individual responsibilities within the general framework and character of the post as defined below.
To ensure a safe and robust Rapid Testing System is in place by undertaking and supporting with lateral flow testing of staff and students and to support with associated administration involved in the processing of and recording of results.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To participate in College processes as required.
To comply with the Colleges policies and codes of practice in relation to Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and Quality Assurance.
To work flexibly in the interests of the College as required.
To undertake staff training activities as appropriate.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults you are responsible for, or come into contact with, and outside of this, to exercise vigilance at all times.
To be aware of the policy, procedures and safe working practices expected of all staff relating to the processing of personal information and Data Protection.
POST SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure students and staff have registered and distribute test kits on arrival
Ensure orderly entry of staff and students onto the testing site
Carry out the regular routine preventative COVID-19 testing process on a daily basis to staff and students as required.
Provide guidance and supervision of the throat and nasal swab lateral flow testing procedure of students and staff in line with current guidelines.
Collect completed swabs and process them, ensuring they are ready for collection.
Prepare test samples for analysis, process samples and interpret results.
Collate and record results to the Results Recorder
Clean swabbing bays/spaces and ensuring that all areas are clean and as COVID-19 safe as possible ensuring that waste is correctly disposed of within current guidelines.
Comply with all safety rules and procedures to ensure own safety and that of colleagues and students at all times.
Ensuring consent forms and relevant documents are completed before carrying out testing.
Undertake any other duties as commensurate with the post.
