Characterization:
•Direct traits that an author directly tells the reader about
•Indirect traits that an author reveals about a character through symbolism
Characters:
•Protagonist main character (the central or main figure) of a drama or story
•Antagonist is a character, group of characters
•Round fully developed; readers may even be able to anticipate the actions of a round character if the characterization is well done
•Flatwe know very little about a flat character; flat characters are not meant to serve as main characters
Cliché: platitude: a trite or obvious remark
Conflict:
•Person vs. Person a character (human or animal or other) who is in opposition with another
•Nature vs. Person a character (human or animal or other) who is in a conflict with nature/ setting
•Person vs. Society a character in opposition with societal values or beliefs
•Person vs. Self- character who is in opposition with themselves; usually over a decision that needs to be made
