Managers Position Description



Below are guidelines the Managers of an Eastern Suburbs Hockey Club team need to uphold in the 2014 season.


  1. Share competition information with your team. Team managers are the liaison between their team and the club executive. If your contact information should change, please contact the secretary at [email protected]

  2. Uphold sanctions. The team manager is responsible for the conduct of their team – you should be aware of the Ipswich Hockey By-Laws that affect your team. Should you require a copy of the By-Laws please contact the secretary.

  3. Mandate sportsmanship. You are the example for your team. It is expected that managers will control their team, themselves from unsporting behaviour.

  4. Collection of Fees. It is the responsibility of the manager to make sure that fee’s are up to date. If you have not received an up to date fees schedule please contact the club treasurer.

  5. If working with children it is compulsory that you have a working with children blue card

  6. Maintain team uniform



CODE OF CONDUCT / ETHICS

The Eastern Suburbs Hockey Club has adopted the following “Code of Conduct”. It is expected that managers will support and adhere to this code; and inform his/her team of the code.

For managers:

  1. Lead by example by demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to opposing players and team manager.

  2. Provide an environment for your team that is free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol and abusive language.

  3. Respect the game and IHA officials and communicate with them in an appropriate manner.

  4. Encourage your players to play by IHA rules and regulations and respect the rights of other players, managers, spectators and officials.

  5. Be responsible for your behaviour and the behaviour of your players and spectators.

For players:

A. Respect the game, play fair and follow the rules and regulations set forth by the IHA

B. Show respect for authority of the officials and umpires

C. Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during and after the game.

D. Be courteous to the opposing team and treat all players and team managers with

respect.

E. Refrain from use of drugs, tobacco, alcohol and abusive language during play.
