VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System

to Hold Town Hall Meeting with Local Veterans & Stakeholders



What:            The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System is hosting a town hall for Veterans, family members, and the public to provide feedback on VA operations. Employees will be on hand to assist Veterans with addressing patient-specific questions or concerns. Media are also invited to attend.

When:           Wednesday, September 17, 2014 – 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Background: This Meeting is designed to promote open dialog and receive feedback from Veterans, family members and other beneficiaries. VACWMASS would also welcome input from Congressional stakeholders, Veteran Service Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, and other community partners.


This town hall meeting is part of a nationwide VA effort to improve communication with, and hear directly from, Veterans nationwide.


“Caring for Veterans is a calling, and our first commitment is to provide Veterans and their families the timely, quality care and benefits they have earned and deserve through their service to our Nation,” said VA Secretary Robert McDonald. “It is critical that we continue to listen and learn directly from those who benefit from our system.”


VACWMASS Leadership looks forward to hearing how we can continue to improve the operations of your VA Healthcare System to become the provider of choice for Central and Western Massachusetts Veterans.


VA Central Western Massachusetts Healtcare System serves approximate 25,500 Veterans at its main facility in Northampton, MA and its five Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Worcester, Springfield, Fitchburg, Greenfield and Pittsfield. Annually, the Medical center completes nearly 300,000 clinic appointments.
