Solution:
– The fulcrum is on the edge of the can where the screwdriver is.
– The force will be applied on the handle of the screwdriver.
– The load is the resistance that the lid offers.
2. Which simple machine…?
Solution: A potter’s wheel uses a wheel that is controlled by the feet and transmits the movement from the shaft to the base, where the clay is formed.
3. Write the names of the ten tools…
Solution: Example answers include:
– Hammer: used to bang nails into pieces of wood.
– Pliers: used to hold, bend or cut objects.
– Saw: used to cut wood, rubber and other materials.
– Chisel: used to carve or gouge hard materials.
– Plane: used to flatten and smooth wood.
– Drill: used to make holes in walls and wood.
– Screwdriver: used to turn screws.
– Gimlet: used to make holes in wood.
– Pliers: used to hold things, cut barbed wire and take out nails.
– Clamp: used to hold objects or apply pressure to them.
