LIVE VACCINE (FROZEN SUSPENSION) FOR IMMUNIZATION AGAINST

MYCOPLASMA GALLISEPTICUM IN CHICKENS

INDICATION

Active immunisation of future layers and of future breeders against avian mycoplasmosis caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum.

STORAGE

Store between –20 ºC and –70 ºC.

Do not keep the vaccine for longer than one month at –20 ºC.

Do not re-freeze thawed-out vaccine.

COMPOSITION

Each dose of vaccine contains:

Mycoplasma gallisepticum, strain ts-11,

at least ...............................7.55 log10 ccu

WARNINGS

Do not apply TS-11 simultaneously with IB or NCD eye-drop vaccine.

Do not administer antibiotics 2 weeks before or after vaccination.

Only vaccinate healthy chickens.

Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.

Vaccinate each chicken in the flock.

Do not refreeze vaccine, which has been thawed.

Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a wide variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue for a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS

Avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing when handling the vaccine.

Apply usual aseptic procedures.

At the end of the day, glass and plastic bottles must be plunged into an antiseptic solution (bleach) and subsequently destroyed.
Destroy any unused vaccine and dispose of all the vaccine containers and disposable equipment after use in accordance with National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008).

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE

Allow thawing for 2 hours at room temperature or by placing the bottle into cold water.

Pour the contents of the bottle into a clean dropper bottle, but do not use disinfectants during cleaning.

Shake gently before use.

The vaccine must be used within two hours after thawing.

Change dropper-bottle every day.

Eye drop application:

Dosage: One drop per chicken. Place a single drop into one of the eyes of the chicken and allow the drop to spread across the surface of the eye before releasing the chicken.

One single administration at an age included between 12 and 14 weeks.
