Policy for Holding Items Behind the Circulation Desk

Holding Items at the Circulation Desk Policy

No patron shall leave notes or items at the Circulation Desk for other patrons to receive. The front desk is not a message center. Patrons may leave notes for one another on the bulletin board. As for exchanging items, patrons must work the exchange out between themselves.

Circulating library items may be held for a patron for 24 hours. An additional 24-hour hold is allowed if patron requests this extension. When items are held at the Circulation Desk, the following information should be included on a note with the items: patron name, date and time of hold request. Neither journals nor items in the Reference Section will be held at the desk for patrons.
