Purpose
Semester One: To build and improve the fitness and wellbeing of students in the HPV and Swimming team
Semester Two: To prepare and build fitness and skills of students performing a K10 and above who are in Grade 3 to 5.
Scope
This policy applies to students who have been invited to join the swimming club. It outlines the purpose and the process of the policy for all parties involved.
Policy
This policy outlines the practices that Kororoit Creek Primary School has in place for the Swimming Club. It also explains the circumstances in which Kororoit Creek Primary School will seek parent/carer consent and how consent can be provided and/or withdrawn.
Kororoit Creek Primary School will ensure that parents/carers are notified upon enrolment and at the commencement of each term the ways in which our school runs the Swimming Club program. Communication with parents will be through Compass or phone call.
In addition to the processes outlined below, parents/carers can contact Blayne Wallis or Emma Holmes in writing, by sending an email to [email protected] at any time to withdraw their consent of the program.
Participating children will be selected by our P.E staff in consultation with Leadership
Semester one; the team is selected from students who are in the KCPS HPV or Swimming Team
Semester two; the team is selected from the students in years 3-5 who are achieving a level K10 or above
The enrolment of the Swimming Club will incur a fee of $20 for the term
The program will run for 30 minutes, and will be run by a trained instructor from the King Swim
Any students who need assistance or supervision in the water will be assisted by a staff member from King Swim
A staff member of Kororoit Creek Primary School will attend each session to supervise and assist students when returning to school
Kororoit Creek Primary School has a zero tolerance for any form of child abuse
