1^st International Youth Tournament ITF in Zagreb

Dear friends,

We are honored to invite You to the 1^st International Youth Tournament ITF – ZAGI OPEN, on May 1^st 2004. at the Primary School DUGAVE (sport hall), Dugave (Novi Zagreb) organized by Taekwon-do club FORMA Zagreb, CROATIA.

We are obliged to organize a tournament of high quality that would make Your stay in Zagreb a pleasent one.

This competition is focused on ours youngest sportsmen and that is why we devided youth category in two age groups (sparring):

a) younger youths

b) older youths

Sparring for older youths will be judged by ITF rules, and younger youths will have modifided ITF rules – more like semi – contact (a stand still position of the sparring on each point achieved). The rules are modifided to prevent and restrict possible injuries. One of the main reasons why we are organising this tournament is to point the other organizers how to prevent major injuries.

We wish to all clubs and participants a pleasent stay at the tournament and in our town.

PLACE: ZAGREB (Novi Zagreb), CROATIA

Dugave

Primary School Dugave (sports hall)

TIME: May 1^st 2004.

FEE: 15 € (euro) per competitor

TIME – TABLE: 08:00 – 09:30 weighting

09:30 – 10:00 opening ceremony

10:00 – 11:30 patterns competition (elimination)

11:30 – 14:00 sparring competition (elimination)

14:00 – 15:00 break

15:00 – 18:00 resumption of sparring competition (elimination)

18:00 – 19:30 finals

YEAR: a) the younger youths: 1995. – 1993.

b) the older youths: 1992. – 1989.

Obligation of bringing year confirmation (competition booklet, health card…)

SPARRING: a) YOUNGEr YOUTH

Male: - 130 cm; 131 – 140; 141 – 150; + 150 cm

Female: - 130 cm; 131 – 140; 141 – 150; + 150 cm

Rules: ITF – semi contact (a stand still position)

Sparring time: 1 x 2 min, finals: 2 x 2 min.

SPARRING: b) OLDER YOUTHS

Male: -30, -35, -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +60 kg

Female: -30, -35, -40, -45, -50, -55, -60, +60 kg

Rules: ITF

Sparring time: 1 x 2 min, finals: 2 x 2 min.

PATTERNS: ALL YOUTHS

Yellow belts: CHON-JI

Green belts: DO-SAN

Blue belts: YUL-GOK

Red belts: TOI-GYE

Black belts: CHONG-MOO

Finals: Competitors perform pattern by his/hers choice

REFEREES: Every club must provide one (1) referee. If not, must inform the organizer and pay 50 € (euro) on the day of the tournament. Referees must be properly dressed (blue suit, white shirt, blue tie, white sports shoes)

The organizer will provide lunch for all referees.

COMPLAINT: Every club, by his representative, can appeal a complaint if by their

opinion their competitior didn't have a fair trial. The appeal must be written 5 min after sparring and must be brought to the Jury president after paying an amount of 30 € (euro) to organizer officals. If the appeal is justified, the organizer is obliged to return the payment.

REPORT: Entries deadline is Friday, April 30^th 2004. 12:00 pm

In report specify the name of the club, name and surname of competitiors, their years, belt, category (weight - for older youths, hight – for younger youths), patterns (yes-no), sparring (yes-no).

Specify the responsibile person for the club.

Each competitor will compete on his own risk!

PRIZES: 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place will recieve a medals and diplomas

Pocals will be given to 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place for the best club ( M and F)

Best individuals (M and F) will recieve a medallions

Awards of the sponsors.
