Thank you for your letter of 17th July 2007 accompanied by the petition in support of the return of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church articles on the occasion of the coming Ethiopian millennium. The Dean and Chapter will give careful consideration to the petition and to the request that Westminster Abbey return the Tabot to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.


If the Dean and Chapter are minded to respond positively to your request, the matter would need to be placed before the Westminster Abbey Fabric Commission for their consideration and guidance.


I hope to resolve the matter before the end of the year.
