This is also on the website.
The board has not acted on tuition and fees for next year.
In another two weeks May 20th they will set tuition requirements.
Instate students are supposed to pay 1/3 of tuition and out of state are supposed to pay 100 percent
It takes a longer period of time to set tuition, because they have to wait for the states decision on what they will provide to institutions.
Slide 3 . VCU is under funded by 72 million dollars. It has been a chronic problem.
Slide 4. Also have an enrollment growth where VCU has increase enrollment by a 3rd. More students and less state funding has provided under funding to VCU
Slide 5. Recession problems. Higher education is not a constitutionally gained right, it is discretionary. In 2008 63 million dollars have been dropped, some buffered by stimulus money which ends this June.
Slide 10 you can see where VCU tuition and fee’s has ranked according to other institutions.
Slide 21: Still below average of the four institutions, but now a little more appropriately put among peers.
The board meets on the 20th and it will be put up on the website right away.
