down to the 100 sites every geologist should see.
From the website above, choose a geologic site. First come, first pick; no one will do the same choice. Tell Mrs. Bouda your choice and GET IT APPROVED.
You will be creating a Powerpoint presentation about this topic. Your presentation must include the following:
Title slide- with picture
Map(s) of where this geologic site is. Use US locations if possible
Description of how this site formed geologically. (2-3 slides with images on each)
Geologic features found here (rock types, depositional structures, igneous structures, fossils, spleothems etc….) Include explanations of how and why they formed here. IN YOUR WORDS- no cut and paste! minimum of 3 slides
Explanation of why every geologist should see this thing (1 slide)
Tourist slides (2) What other things would you show tourists, what would you tell them?
Cite your sources- include the websites you used on a slide
You want to show off as much geologic knowledge as possible in your presentation. Keep in mind your presentation should be a “virtual field trip”. Use many visuals and DON'T JUST READ YOUR SLIDES when you are presenting to the class.
You MUST email your final powerpoint to Mrs. Bouda: [email protected] OR share with me on google drive at [email protected]
