Each month the Fairfield Lions Club honors a senior as the Lions Student of the Month. Students are nominated by the faculty and selected for demonstrating self-discipline, a commitment to health, respect for others, compassion, good judgment, responsibility, honesty, scholarship, trustworthiness and involvement.


Haili Balderson was honored by the Fairfield Lions Club as the Student of the Month for January, 2020.

Haili is the niece of Mr. Earl Connelly of Fairfield. During her high school career Haili has been involved in the following school activities: National Honor Society (12), and National Art Honor Society (11-12).

Haili has also been involved in the following activities outside of school: She has been learning and studying American Sign Language and Deaf Culture for six years and is involved with the Deaf Community. She also took college courses during her Junior year.

Haili was selected for the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen’s Award by the Fairfield Faculty. This award recognizes and rewards a student in their Senior year for possessing good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree.

Her future plans are to attend Gallaudet University, which is the world’s only university designed to be barrier-free for deaf and hard of hearing students. Haili plans to study American Sign Language Interpreting to become a Certified Interpreter.
