HI MY NAME IS COURTNEY HICKS I AM 14

Hi, my name is Courtney Hicks. I am 14 years old and I am in the ninth grade. I have been skating since I was five years old and I represent the All Year Figure Skating Club of Culver City. Recently, I competed at Nationals in Spokane, WA at the Novice level and ended up 5^th in nation. I had to qualify to get there. I did this by placing second at the Southwest Pacific Sectionals in Jackson Hole, WY. This is my third consecutive year qualifying for a National event.

These accomplishments have opened up new avenues for me. I get the opportunity to travel and compete internationally for USA.

I train about 18 hours per week. Expenses include ice time, coaching, off-ice training, skates and blades, costumes, multiple competitions and travel expenses.

My parents are Gene and Nelisa (Stupin) Hicks. They work hard at trying to help support my two younger sisters and my increasing skating expenses. At the present time, the cost of my skating is around $25,000 a year.

My parents and I are doing the best we can to pay my skating bills, but we need additional financial support. A fund has been set up for me at the New England Amateur Skating Foundation, and all donations to the NEASF qualify as tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The full amount of your donation will be used for skating related expenses.
