Advanced Placement Credits Policy
Students granted Advanced Placement Credits (exemptions from relevant modules) will need fewer Modular Credits (MCs) to complete their degrees, so may even graduate earlier. Advanced Placement Tests are set at the respective University levels for the corresponding modules in the BBA programme. Click on the drop down menu ‘Advanced Placement Course Outlines’ here for more.
GCE 'A' level or Equivalent Qualifications
Holders of GCE 'A' levels or equivalent qualifications who have obtained good grades may be granted up to 20 MCs of advanced placement from programme requirements subject to performance in placement tests set by the departments offering the modules.
Polytechnic Diploma Holders
Polytechnic diploma holders may be granted Advanced Placement Credits of up to 40 MCs (exemptions for 10 modules) as follows:
20 MCs from Unrestricted
Elective Modules
(UEMs)
Up to 20 MCs from BBA Programme Requirements may be granted based on good performance in the Advanced Placement Tests set by the NUS Business School after an applicant had accepted NUS' offer of admission.
* Note: 20 MCs for Unrestricted Elective Modules are automatic. No Advanced Placement Test is required. The full 20MCs exemption will be given to all polytechnic admission. However, whether the full 20 MCs exemption is applicable will be dependent on the students’ programme requirement.
Students transferring into Biz after studying elsewhere are not eligible to sit for any Advanced Placement Tests, since these are intended for students starting their university education.
Please consult this link concerning eligibility for taking Advanced Placement Tests. To optionally apply for any Advanced Placement Test after accepting NUS' offer of admission, please click here. For questions, please email Ms Karen Au at mailto:[email protected].
