WARNINGS
Do not slaughter fowls for human consumption within 21 days after vaccination.
Vaccinate healthy fowls only.
Keep out of reach of children, uninformed people and animals.
Do not mix this vaccine with other vaccines. Do not keep any partially used containers for future use and destroy any unused vaccine and empty vaccine containers after vaccination, for instance by burning.
Slight local reactions may occur at injection site if the vaccine is not properly vaccinated subcutaneously.
In case of accidental self-injection, acute local inflammatory reactions may develop, especially in case of a high-pressure injection in the area of the fingers or hand joint (the severity and the evolution of the lesions depend primarily upon the site of the accidental injection).
Note to the user
In case of accidental self-injection, the following must be carried out as quickly as possible.
Disinfect the punctured area with an antiseptic or simply wash with soap.
Place ice on the injected area.
Seek medical advice immediately from a physician or a medical care facility and inform him/her that the vaccine contains a mineral oil (show the label, package insert or the product to the physician).
Note to the physician or the medical care provider
The vaccine is inactivated and cannot be the cause of zoonosis.
The following recommendations must be followed:
Carefully clean the injected area.
Check whether tetanus immunisation is up-to-date.
In the case of high-pressure injection in the area of the fingers or hand joint, advice from a hand surgeon must be sought before implementing a symptomatic treatment.
If necessary, prescribe a symptomatic treatment, generally based on analgesics, anti-inflammatory and anti-histaminic drugs.
Ensure regular daily monitoring.
Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and inform the registration holder.
PRECAUTIONS
Do not drink, eat or smoke while handling the vaccine.
Observe aseptic precautions. Ensure that the vaccination equipment (needles, syringes etc.) are clean and sterile prior to use.
The duration and intensity of vaccination reactions are dependant on many factors; such as the level of any maternal antibody or level of immunity from previous vaccination as well as on the general health status of the fowls.
Protection is not achieved immediately following vaccination and may take up to 10-15 days to develop.
Hygiene and management play an essential part in the post-vaccination period.
Avoid intravenous injection.
Avoid contamination of the eyes, hands and clothing during handling/administration of the vaccine.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Use only as directed
Subcutaneous route
Allow vaccine to gradually reach room temperature prior to use.
