Global Energy Outlook—2007-2030 to take place November 14: Exxon Mobil executive to project world’s energy needs and outline factors shaping global energy demand and supply in coming decades.

Miami, FL–– Florida International University’s (FIU) Energy Business Forum will host a presentation and discussion of the Global Energy Outlook—2007 to 2030 on November 14, 2007. The event will take place in the new Ocean Bank Auditorium, College of Business Complex, University Park, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Guest speaker Scott Nauman, manager for Economics and Energy in the Corporate Planning Department of ExxonMobil, will present the outlook, followed by a question and answer session.

The purpose of the presentation is to foster a better understanding of the world's energy needs and the factors that will shape global energy demand and supply in the coming decades.

The presentation will include an assessment of energy supply and demand through 2030, discuss the link between economic progress and energy consumption, and examine the underlying factors that are shaping important energy supply and demand challenges around the world. The Energy Outlook also will cover renewables, growing power generation and transportation demands, and the reduction of CO2 emissions.

ExxonMobil is the largest private energy corporation in the world and its Energy Outlook is one of the most respected in the energy industry. Every year, the firm prepares a detailed, long-term energy supply and demand outlook that it uses as part of its business planning. The report, which extends to 2030, incorporates data and input from a variety of respected sources, including the International Energy Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.

This event is presented by the Energy Business Forum of the Knight Ridder Center for Excellence in Management in FIU’s College of Business Administration and the Center for Energy and Technology for the Americas in the Applied Research Center. The event is sponsored by ExxonMobil.
