Lernsituation 1 (The basic economic problem and the function of an economy):

You have just started your first term in economics at your vocational school. As you decided to take the economic bilingual course you have to fight several sorrows concerning the language difficulties and the complexity of the subject itself. In order to take away your fears you prepare an overview with the basic economic terms.

The basis for your overview is a recent newspaper article that refers to the rising standards of living of a typical UK family, which said that the economic welfare roughly doubled between 1970 and 2012. The article also includes various economic terms, which are quite new for you.

To get through the new words and expressions you start to inform yourself using the prepared materials. To structure your findings you create a glossary, which can be used in your further lessons.
