En los EE.UU. el debate sobre los inmigrantes siempre ha sido muy controversial. En todas las elecciones el tema de la inmigración es muy importante. Uds. representan un grupo político y tienen que preparar una presentación oral soportando la idea a favor o en contra de la inmigración para presentarla ante miembros del Congreso.
Tu tarea es hacer investigaciones sobre el tema de la inmigración en los EE.UU. usando el Internet y por lo menos una fuente escrita en papel (libro, enciclopedia, revista, etc.) Cada persona debe buscar información en 4 fuentes diferentes por lo menos. Todas las personas en su grupo tienen que hablar y presentar un punto de su posición. Tendrán la oportunidad de hacer preguntas al otro grupo y/o presentar información y argumentos en contra de la información presentada por el otro grupo.
Su público son miembros del Congreso de los EE.UU. quien tiene que tomar una decisión para un voto sobre las leyes de inmigración.
El propósito del trabajo es presentar y soportar una posición con referencias, utilizar la gramática y el vocabulario apropiados para comunicar tus ideas.
LA NOTA
Este proyecto tendrá una nota de Prueba (test) por la evaluación general del debate y la lista de referencias. Después de los debates tendrán que escribir una composición que tendrá un valor de Control (quiz). La parte oral del debate y la composición serán evaluadas usando la rúbrica “Presentational Mode Rubric Pre-Advanced Learner”
Leer la Hoja de Evaluación Individual y la rúbrica para la presentación oral y la composición.
Reunirse con las personas del grupo para discutir cómo van a distribuir la investigación.
Hacer investigaciones para buscar información que pueda soportar la posición del grupo. (Individual/grupo)
Estudiar y utilizar expresiones de las páginas 354-55 del libro Abriendo Paso Gramática para poder ayudarles en la presentación oral.
Escribir una lista de referencias (4 referencias como mínimo por persona) usando NoodleBib y asegurarse de compartirla (Share) con Debate sobre Inmigracion-Spanish 5 Honors
El día del debate la lista de referencias de cada estudiante debe estar completa antes del comienzo de la clase.
Hacer su presentación oral.
IMPORTANTE
Deben elegir un líder de su grupo.
Deben decidir qué aspecto va a investigar cada miembro.
Individualmente deben asegurarse de que tienen todo lo que necesitan para el proyecto y deben familiarizarse con la rúbrica.
Todos deben practicar lo que van a decir.
La lista de referencias de cada estudiante debe estar completa antes del comienzo de la clase en NoodleBib. Si la lista no está a tiempo perderás 5 puntos del proyecto.
Los debates serán los días jueves 18 y viernes 19 de noviembre.
Si no estás el día del debate deberás presentar una copia escrita en la computadora de tu argumento (1 a 2 páginas a doble espacio.)
COMPOSICIÓN PARA ENTREGAR EL DÍA LUNES 22 DE NOVIEMBRE
Después de hacer tu investigación y de presentar y escuchar información sobre la inmigración en los EE.UU., vas a escribir una composición de por lo menos 2 páginas (saltando una línea) en tu cuaderno de composiciones donde contestes las siguientes preguntas.
En tu propia opinión, ¿cuáles son las ventajas y desventajas de aceptar inmigrantes (legales o ilegales) en los EE.UU.? ¿Durante el debate, la lectura de “Cajas de cartón” o la película “El Norte” aprendiste algo que te hizo cambiar tu opinión sobre lo que sabías de los inmigrantes? ¿Hubo algo durante tu investigación, durante el debate, la lectura del cuento o la película que no sabías sobre la inmigración que te sorprendió?
Recuerda que esta composición tendrá valor de control y se usará la rúbrica adjunta de “Presentational Mode Rubric Pre-Advanced Learner”
