Summary:

Texas Education Code §39.053 requires each district's Board of Trustees to publish an annual report that includes the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) report, campus performance objectives, a report of violent or criminal incidents, and information received under Texas Education Code §51.403(e) from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). According to Board Policy BR(LEGAL), the Board shall publish annually a report describing the educational performance of the district and of each campus in the district.

The AEIS report, which constitutes the majority of the information in the report, compiles a wide range of information about the annual performance of students, as well as information about staff, financials, programs, and student demographic information for each campus and district in the state. Performance indicators include TAKS results; attendance, dropout and completion rates; course and program completion rates; and national assessment participation and performance.
