SEQUENCE SCRIPT WRITING NOTES
The 16 bar script should contain full details of the Man's steps for the dance, the Lady's steps need only be included if the Lady does not dance the normal opposite to the Man (i.e. Heel Turn). The dance should be set out using 4 Bar Headings followed by a step by step description of every step/count within each bar and should be in 'WORD format' on a maximum of TWO A4 pages as follows:
Main Headings : should contain Time, Tempo, Commencing Hold and Alignment, plus a note if both Man and lady dance on the same foot on any full bars.
4 Bar Headings : Use punctuation (coma or hyphen) between figures to define each bar. Bars 1 to 4 and Bars 5 to 8 should be set out on page 1, Bars 9 to 12 and Bars 13 to 16 set out on page 2.
Each 4 bar heading should be followed by a full description of every step/count within each bar, giving the footwork and timing of each step. (Footwork is not required on a Latin dance script - add the words 'Normal Latin technique used throughout' to the main heading after commencing alignment).
Footnotes: Arrangers name and contact Tel No. must be stated at the end of the step and preferably the details of the music used to dance the dance.
