What is an ICRO?
Your child’s Review will be chaired by an Independent Conference and Review Officer (ICRO) and it will usually be the same ICRO who chairs all the LAC Reviews for him/her. The ICRO is independent of the social work team responsible for your child. The name of the ICRO is written at the start of this form and you can speak to him/her before the Review if you need to on 01482 790933.
Your Legal Rights
Do you know that, under the Children Act 1989, you have the right to:
Apply for a Court Order to formalise arrangements for seeing your child.
You can apply to Discharge a Care Order.
How to make a Complaint
There is an official procedure for making complaints about the way the local authority carries out its duties for children. If you cannot sort out such problems with your child’s social worker or manager, speak to the ICRO at the Review or contact the Complaints Officer on 616143.
This document can be made available in other formats (large print, audio and Braille as appropriate). A translation service is also available. Please telephone 01482 300300.
