2018-2019 school year

MealTime is a web-based automated system that is very similar to a banking debit account. After

money is deposited into the account, students then use their 6 digit pin number to purchase

meals, beverages, snacks, etc. Parents are able to check their student’s account balance, review

their student’s recent purchase activity or deposit money into their student’s account online.

Q: How will my student know his/her 6 digit pin number?

A: Your student’s pin number will be listed on the class schedule that they receive at the

beginning of each school year. If your student has attended Cardinal Ritter in the previous school

year, their number will stay the same. If your student is new to Cardinal Ritter, they can check

their number on their class schedule, acquire the number through the front office, or ask any staff

member in the cafeteria. We will be happy to remind your student of their number throughout the

year if necessary!

Q: How do I deposit money into my student’s lunch account?

A: There are multiple ways to deposit money into an account.

Make a payment online at www.mymealtime.com

o You will need to have your student’s 6 digit pin number in order to make an

online payment.

o MealTime charges a small fee for online payments

o Online payments will take 48-72 hours to become available in your student’s

account. Please plan accordingly.

front office or brought to the cafeteria before or after lunch time.

a meal.

o Parents can call and give their credit card information to any member of the

cafeteria staff over the phone.

o Credit card information can be sent via e-mail to [email protected]

o Information needed to complete a credit card payment is:

account immediately

Q: How will I know when my student’s lunch account gets low?

A: There are multiple ways to keep track of your student’s account!

You can check your student’s account balance and activity on www.mymealtime.com

o You will need your student’s 6 digit pin number in order to access their account

information

o Daily transactions and activities usually take 24 hours to reflect online.

Daily e-mails are sent out to parents

o If you are interested in receiving daily reminders of your student’s account

balance, please be sure to keep a current e-mail address on file at Cardinal Ritter

at all times.

o E-mails will be sent out every afternoon reminding parents that their student has

less that $14.75 in their account OR that their student has a negative balance on

their account.

o Parents are strongly encouraged to make a payment as soon as possible if their

student’s account has a negative balance.

Q: If my student is on the free lunch program, why do I see charges/debt on their account?

A: If your student qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program, they will receive one

government regulated lunch per day for free or at a reduced price. The free and reduced lunch

program does not include anything outside of the government approved meal standard. The

acceptable meal patterns are as follows:

Approved free or reduced lunch includes:

o One main entrée (protein and grain)

o One side of vegetables

o One side of fruit

o One skim milk

If your student chooses to get an extra entrée, any dessert, any item from the snack

shack (ex: chips, PowerAde, candy etc) or any bottled or packaged item, they will be

charged full price for these items as they do not fall under the free and reduced meal

program. These items will be charged to your student’s Mealtime account building

potential debt.

Please be sure to review this information with your student to avoid confusion this

year. They need to be aware that if they choose to purchase items outside of the free or

reduced lunch program standard, they need to have money in their account or paid at

the time of purchase. Thank you!

Q: How much does everything cost? How will I know how much to put into my student’s

account?

A: A list of all items sold in the cafeteria along with the corresponding price is listed on the

attached sheet.

Q: How do I know what my student is eating everyday? How can I manage their daily spending?

A: You can view what your student is purchasing on a daily basis by visiting the MealTime

website at www.mymealtime.com.

You will need your student’s 6 digit pin number in order to obtain their account

information online.

Please note that account activity will take 24 hours to reflect their daily spending.
