LEANDER LIBRARY FOUNDATION BOARD MEETING

Tuesday, May 21, 2019

President Gary Anderson called meeting to order at 6:32p.m.. Board members in attendance were: Chuck Stricker, Jason Dikes, Ronnie Burchett, and Shay Tower. Library Director Priscilla Donovan was present. Members absent: JD Martinez.

Meeting minutes from March 19, 2019: motion to approve March minutes by Gary Anderson, seconded by Chuck Striker; motion carries.

Updates and action on grant donation request from Lowes & Dell

Bookmarks were created, printed (500) thanks to an anonymous donor; displayed at check out.

Chuck reported that the Dell grant requested (for laptops to support GED program) was rejected.

Ronnie reported on donation request of Lowe’s for blinds for the children’s room. Lowe’s does not have the blinds in stock, therefore, they cannot be donated, however, they will offer them at a 15% discount. Lowe’s will come out to measure and install. Approximate cost $150. Ronnie motioned to spend $150 of Foundation funds to purchase blinds, Chuck Striker seconded, motion carries.

Electronic Tax-exempt status was filed on April 3, 2019 and was accepted by the IRS.

Summer Reading Preview and Support

2 programs will be going on every day of the week including performers, book clubs, Tech Taste Test, kids’ book club (librarian led), Around the World stories.

• Roy Haney resigned from Board

• Wish List update: Priscilla will check with Central Texas Library if there is a furniture vendor group; in the meantime, Priscilla will check on getting the current furniture cleaned; will also check into re-upholstery.

• Next meeting in August 20, 2019
