Vacancies: At this writing we have 2 vacant JPO positions, 1 in Sarasota and 1 in Manatee. We anticipate having two more Manatee vacancies by the end of the month as one JPO is retiring and another is moving to north Florida. We are not able to fill these positions at this time. We have 4 new JPOs in the JPO Academy now. They will graduate on 10/19/12 and return to their units where they will begin to get caseloads.
Transforming Florida into a National Model for Juvenile Justice: Presentations will be made around the state. The three sites closest to C-12 will likely be Tampa (12/4/12), St. Pete (12/5/12), and Ft. Myers (12/6/12)
Handout: DJJ C-12 & Manatee stats
Handout/Missed Opportunities report: CPO Donovan distributed and discussed this report. She showed examples of the difference in the regular delinquency face sheet and the one that would be produced on a youth who was afforded a civil citation opportunity. We are not currently doing this in Manatee County, but the opportunity is there, should LEO wish to take advantage of it. CPO Donovan is available for additional discussions on this topic as needed.
