You should decide whether you will take the Chinese language training courses (classes offered by SIE in every morning from Monday to Friday, totally 20 hours per week) when you send your application (you are not allowed to take Chinese language courses if you don’t apply for the language courses). As for the business courses (offered in English by SIE, SITE and BS), there is no deadline for you to register the courses before all the courses start, the first class of each business course is free to listen and you can register them before the second class. If you take SIE’s Chinese Language Training Courses (maximum 20 credits, 20 hours per week), you can take up to 3 business courses (maximum 9 credits, offered by SIE, SITE or BS).
If you don’t take SIE’s Chinese Language Training Courses, you can take up to 6 business courses (Maximum 18 credits, offered by SIE, SITE or BS) and one Introductory Chinese Mandarin (Maximum 6 credits, offered by SITE or BS) .

The visas are marked Chinese phonetic letters of D, Z, X, F, L, G or C; those for international students are marked X (for study 6 months or more) or F (for study less than 6 months). When you apply the Chinese visa at Chinese embassy or consulate, you should submit the Admission Letter and the Visa Application Form (JW202) issued by our university and the Government of Beijing.
In case if your application is delayed and does not have enough time to apply for a students’ visa, you can apply for a tourist (L) visa to China and this is able to change it into a student visa within 30 days after you arrive in China. The students holding an X visa will have to apply for a residents permit and go through a medical check (refer to the Health Certificate).
Health Certificate
Foreign students who study at our university for less than 6 months (one semester) do not need to provide Health Certificate. But those who are going to stay six months or more should have this certificate when you apply for the student’s residence permit. You can either conduct your medical check-up in your home or in Beijing after you arrive. If you are examined in your home, the health records must be confirmed at a local authorized hospital or agency in Beijing before your application of your residence permit.
