Instructions for Hiring Manager:
Ensure the individual meets the requirements described in the VE teaching staff mandatory qualifications, competencies and supervision instruction, including verifying they have the required qualifications and competencies.
If a Supervision Arrangement is required, ensure this is established within seven days of the date of this engagement.
If a Vocational Competency Equivalence Statement is required, ensure it is attached to this form. (Refer to section C. Vocational Competency).
Ensure that a copy of the employees Working With Children Check is kept on file in the School and a copy is sent to HR.
If a police check is required, ensure relevant documentation is kept on file in the School and a copy is sent to HR.
Once this form has been completed:
Keep form on file within the School in a secure location and send a copy to HR. NOTE: This form is required for audit purposes.
Notify the Program Manager to update the Staff Qualifications Matrix with the VE Teacher’s details.
Send Tertiary Qualifications form and associated documentation (e.g. copies of certificates) to HR Assist. You must sight originals of all documentation or a certified copy is required.
(If required) send the Supervision Notification form to HR Assist.

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SUPERVISION ARRANGEMENTS |

All VE Teachers must have current skills and knowledge in their industry area and in vocational education and training (requirement of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015). VE Teachers must have: vocational competencies at least to the level of the Unit (course) being delivered and assessed; current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided; current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment. A. Training and assessment qualification or skillset Minimum requirement is the Cert IV in TAE (TAE40110). VE teachers without this qualification can only deliver training under supervision and must have the Presentinf Skill Set before commencing teaching. |

B. Supervision arrangement An individual who does not yet hold the minimum required training and assessment qualification (Cert IV in TAE) may only deliver training under supervision. Any individual delivering training under supervision must have the Presenting Skill Set before commencing teaching and is expected to attain their Cert IV in TAE qualification within 12 months. If the individual is teaching in more than one Program, a separate supervision arrangement is required for each Program.
