New support scheme:

‘Friends of The Cornerstone’

Dear Friend,

I am writing to you on behalf of The Cornerstone community. The Cornerstone has been through many phases over the years and we feel that we are about to enter a new phase.

A new team of three part-time café staff members was created earlier this year and they are bringing their own contribution to the café menu, the atmosphere of the café and the welcome that is being offered.

Simon Stewart (The Cornerstone Chaplain) is now employed full-time and is expanding his work in many different areas - pastoral care; bereavement courses; support groups; faith nurturing groups; support for various one-off events (Light-up Lancaster, Fair-trade Fayre, Music Festival) and all sorts of other things! Simon has also built up a significant network of relationships with other Third Sector organisations, many of which make use of the facilities at The Cornerstone and provide additional opportunities for our mission and ministry to the wider community.

We now have an employed part-time Administrator, Sandra, who oversees the liaison with the vast number of difTHE CORNERSTONE SULYARD STREET LANCASTER LA1 1PX A SAFE ferent groups hiring the building. We are also employing a part-time cleaner.

We are currently drawing-up a 5-year business plan for The Cornerstone (2020-2025), and as part of this plan we are creating the ‘Friends of The Cornerstone’ scheme.

Friends are those who have an interest in the concerns and work of The Cornerstone and want to offer a commitment and maintain a connection with it. They support the work of The Cornerstone with a donation of at least £10 per annum and receive:
