Seldens Landing Elementary School is pleased to announce that it will offer a $1,000 scholarship to a senior who attended Seldens Landing Elementary School and who is pursuing undergraduate studies. This is a class gift from the current graduating 5^th graders of Seldens Landing Elementary. Through fundraising, donations and class activities the students created this scholarship fund to support the Seldens Landing Alumni.

Instructions:

Please complete and submit the scholarship application, essay responses, a copy of your transcripts and the release forms—all attached. Each essay question should be typed and answered in 300 words or less. Please send completed application package to:

All applications must be postmarked by ~~April 30^th, 2013~~. New deadline: May 10, 2013 We will invite the scholarship winner to read his/her essay at our Seldens Landing Fifth Grade Promotion Ceremony on the evening of June 3^rd, 2013.

Requirements for consideration include: the completed application form, a copy of school transcript and the completed essay responses. Submission of the Essay Release Form is requested, but not required. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

This OPTIONAL release form authorizes the Seldens Landing Fifth Grade Scholarship Committee to share your essays with the Seldens Landing teaching staff. We are requesting your approval to share your essays with our staff, who may in turn choose to read them to their students.

If you choose to allow us to release your essays, you may elect to have us share them anonymously or attributed to you, whichever you prefer.

Please note that your decision to share your essays or not will have no impact on the scoring of your application.
