THIS PERMIT IS GRANTED SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
The exercise of the privileges hereby granted shall be without cost or expense to the United States, under the general supervision and subject to the approval of the Lake Manager and subject also to such regulations as may be prescribed by the District Engineer.
The use of metal detectors will be allowed at designated swim beaches that do not contain or would not reasonably be expected to contain archeological, historical, or paleonotological resources. Digging shall be limited to hand tools that can be used by one hand only. One retrieval scoop is authorized. All soil that is disturbed or displaced will be returned to its original state.
Non-identifiable items, such as coins, of nominal value (less than $25.00) that are found do not need to be deposited with the Lake Manager or Park Ranger. Identifiable items (rings, watches, etc…) or items of greater than nominal value will be deposited with the Lake Manager or a Park Ranger for disposition according to 36 CFR Part 327.15 (Abandonment and Impoundment of Personal Property) and Part 327.16 (Lost & Found).
The permit tee shall keep the premises in good order and in a clean, safe condition by and at the expense of the permit tee. The permit tee shall be responsible for any damage that may be caused to property of the United States by the activities of the permit tee under this permit. Any property of the United States damaged or destroyed by the permit tee shall be promptly repaired or replaced by the permit tee to a condition satisfactory to the Lake Manager. The permit tee will use all reasonable means available to protect the environment and natural resources, and where damage nonetheless occurs from the permit tee’s activities, the permit tee shall be liable to restore the damaged resources.
The permit tee shall comply with all applicable Federal, state, county and municipal laws, ordinances and regulations wherein the premises are located.
Permit tee shall hold the Government, its officers, agents and employees harmless from any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising from or out of the performance of the acts authorized by this permit.
No property right or interest in the real estate is conveyed hereby. The permit tee has no rights of supervision or control of the use of the Government-owned lands and the free use of the Government land is and shall remain open to the public.
Identification must be provided to receive the permit.
Permits are valid for one year from the date of issue.
