Area Risk Manager 2010 to 2015

As part of the acquisition of Somerfield by the Co-operative group I was appointed as Area Risk Manager working from the Bristol office. I managed 100-120 branches within the South West Region. Through my implementation of the company processes and procedures I set bench mark targets for all branch managers. During my pro-active branch visits I would work with the Manager and Team to ensure legal compliance was exceeded.

Responsibilities:

To provide appropriate specialist support to the Group and other support services in relation to H&S, Food Safety, Trading Standards, Environmental Compliance and Security
Assist in and support the delivery of compliance in accordance with Group Policies and Procedures.
Deliver appropriate H&S and Food Safety training packages to agreed standards to promote H&S compliance.
To assess local Risk Factors and advise Operational Management on appropriate and practical measures to control such risks.
To provide appropriate input to Group accident reporting
To provide appropriate input to the Group on crime investigation
To protect the Groups businesses by dealing with and where necessary challenging enforcement authority activities.
