Morris County Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program

Morris County Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program

The Morris County Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program (S.L.A.P.) provides manpower for some cleanups.  I make arrangements for a crew to cleanup an area or county road.  Bags, safety vest, signs and gloves are provided to S.L.A.P.  They return the items after the cleanup.  The group is supervised by officers from the Sheriff’s department.  County roads that do not have a sufficient shoulder or are extremely high-traffic roads are not approved by the Sheriff’s department for cleanups.

Using your Sheriff’s department for cleanups may be a good resource.  I do not have to pay for any of the cleanups or the salary of the officers.  I do supply the equipment.  I find that this program has worked out well in cleanups of heavily littered areas.  The assigned officer stays with the group the entire time and is responsible for them.  You may want to send a group like this to several small locations on the same day.  The group is usually scheduled for a 3 to 4 hour period.  If you would like additional information, please call Liz Sweedy at 973-285-8393.
