RESPONSIBLE TO: Area Superintendent
JOB PURPOSE:
To support the Green Spaces Team in delivering a quality Grounds Maintenance service within the Authority.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:
Undertaking routine grounds maintenance duties allocated by the Superintendent at a range of different locations. To operate ride on mowers, powered hand tools such as strimmers and petrol mowers. Assist with the general horticultural/amenity tasks such as hedge cutting, over marking of sports pitches, weeding flower and shrub beds. Maybe required to drive a vehicle possibly with a trailer to carry out your daily tasks.
Responsibility for the safe keeping and proper operation of the fleet, plant and equipment allocated reporting any damage or defects, and assisting the Superintendent with the effective and efficient management of these resources.
Assisting the Superintendent to ensure that compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation, Risk Assessment’s and Safe systems of Work’s are adhered to by both yourself and others whilst carrying out your duties.
