DECEMBER 2021

SPECIAL POSTAGE OFFERS – CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

QUANTITIES PRO-RATA, ALWAYS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY

RUMOUR? Royal Mail are expected to announce an increase towards the end of the year?

Demand for G.B. discounted postage is exceeding supply. We have had to review some prices. Auctions have been a good source, however, the past 6 months have seen prices rocket and realising 80%/90% plus premium….Bearing in mind that the 1ST AND 2ND NVI’s which started at only 19p and 14p (now as from January 1, 2021 85p and 66p!) when they were introduced in 1988 ), the ‘E’ started at 30p NOW £1.70! More letters are being written during lockdown creating extra demand. Even the £100 mixed value packets are becoming difficult to accumulate, having used up surplus Commemorative sets up to 1990. Self-Adhesives now commanding additional premium due to their convenience. Subject availability. If ordering by Telephone ask for Samantha.

Thank you for your patience while I contacted the Revenue Protection Policy and Compliance Manager regarding your enquiry.

I have been advised the NVI stamps which have the E on can be used for both inland and Europe postings and the value of the stamp would be the current cost of an International Standard to Europe, which at this time (date of letter) would be £1.35.  NVI stamps do not have an expiry date and are valid at the current rate of postage, as long as they are unused stamps. I believe the issue is that the Post Office Counter staff were not aware of this and is why they were refusing to accept these stamps.

As the Post Office and Royal Mail are now separated we do not have jurisdiction over the training of the counter staff I can only advise that the customer can point out that these NVI stamps have the value of the service indicated on the stamp i.e. 1st, 2nd and E and insist the Post Office accept the item.  If however you can provide me with the details of the Post Office visited, I can forward the details to the Post Office senior team for feedback purposes.

Kind regards
