Title: A Web-enabled Data Mart for Sales Analysis
Completed by: Robert Davis
Time of Completion: July 2000
Abstract:
This project describes the process of designing a Web-enabled data mart. The system was developed to allow users more flexibility in retrieving sales history information. The interface allowed users to select the type of information they want to view. This allowed the users to analyze the sales information by viewing reports in different layouts. The Internet makes the data mart more accessible because no special software needs to be installed on user’s PC. This project was developed using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to design a system that meets the sales staff’s needs. The process of developing the system is documented in the project’s methodology section. The steps of the SDLC allowed the project to develop a system that enables the sales staff to access the information they need in a format that they can use. The processing of the information is documented in the methodology section. The scope for this project was to develop and create sales history information on the data mart. Eventually the system will include information from all areas of organization.
