Aladdin Costume List

Dear Parents,

Rehearsals are well underway for our production of ‘Aladdin Trouble’ and the children are doing a fantastic job of getting into character. To help them even further, we would like them to start to prepare their costumes.

Below you will find a costume list for the cast:

Scheherazade	Any typical Arabian style outfit
Sultan	Brightly coloured harem trousers, shirt, bright long coat and turban. White is an alternative
Sultan’s Servant	Any typical Arabian style outfit
Aladdin	Loose tunic-style shirt, harem trousers, Fez.
Widow Twanky	Over-the-top dress- brightly coloured, stripy tights, clompy shoes, oversized wig
Wishy/Washy	Brightly coloured socks and shoes, cropped trousers/skirt (of any colour), checked shirt.
Abanazar	Typical Abanazar outfit - long cloak, headdress
Wantu	Black shirt and trousers
Villagers	Long tunics with harem trousers, dress with belt and headscarf. Any colour
Wife	Long plain coloured dress with belt and headscarf.
Builder	Overalls/Dungarees/Jeans, long-sleeved shirt/t-shirt, trainers
King	Royal colours - gold/ white with purple. Harem trousers with waistcoat and large headdress with feathers
Jasmine	Typical Jasmine costume
King’s Servants	Long jacket or waistcoat, cropped black trousers (or long trousers under socks), long white socks, black shoes,
Suitor 1	Gym clothes, trainers
Suitor 2	Smart trousers, jacket, shirt and tie, smart shoes
Suitor 3	Dark trousers/jeans, white t-shirt, smart black shoes
Suitor 4	Football kit, trainers
Jasmine’s Maids	Similar to Jasmine
Oracle	Dressed all in white, long dress/tunic and coat with headdress
Man	Similar to villagers
Woman	Similar to villagers
Trader	Similar to villagers
Washing Lines	Dressed all in black, jogging bottoms and black T-shirt
Genie	Typical Genie outfit - loose, blue, ‘floaty’ trousers, pale blue top with red waistcoat
Three Wishes	Gold/silver harem trousers and ‘floaty’ top. Lots of sparkle and gems!
Tom	Black jogging bottoms, black long-sleeved t-shirt
Gem 1	Ruby coloured Arabian style outfit, quite floaty
Gem 2	Emerald coloured Arabian style outfit, quite floaty
Gem 3	Gold coloured Arabian style outfit, quite floaty
Gem 4	Pearl coloured Arabian style outfit, quite floaty
DJ	Casual clothes
Matt Paint/Wal Paper	Painting clothes/ overalls/ dungarees, trainers
Mr Rick/Mr Shaw	Black jogging bottoms, white long-sleeved t-shirt
Salesman	Smart trousers, shirt and tie, smart shoes
Police/PC Bright/PC Crook	Black trousers/skirt, black tie, smart black shoes, policeman’s helmet
Rat 1	Dressed in brown: brown jogging bottoms and t-shirt
Rat 2	Dressed in brown: brown jogging bottoms and t-shirt
MC	Dark trousers, white shirt, bow tie, smart shoes
Dancers	Typical Arabian style outfit with ballet shoes (nude/pink if possible)
Gong Hitter	Dressed all in black
Cue Cards	Dressed all in black
Lighting/ Props/ Sound	Dressed all in black

Please could we ask that all costumes involve tops that cover the children’s tummies and reach the band of their trouser i.e. no crop tops.

Costume need to be put in a bag and left in school until after the play is over, with the exception of any shoes, which are needed for school. Please name the bag on the outside so that it is easy to tell which bag belongs to which person. Please can all costumes be in school on Friday 28^th June. It is important that all costumes are ready for this date as our first performances to the school are the following week.
