Guide to Common Phone Tasks

DIALING OPTIONS **

Use the receiver

Lift the handset and dial a number.

Use the softkey

Press the NewCall softkey and dial a number.

Dial with the phone on-hook
(no dial tone)

From the main screen, dial the number and then press the Dial softkey. (You will not hear a dial tone until you press the Dial softkey.)

Note: If you are dialing with the phone on-hook, you cannot use * or # as the leading digit. If you need to use these keys, dial with the phone off-hook.

Redial the most recently dialed number

Press the Redial softkey.


**You must first dial 9 and then the seven-digit telephone number when dialing a number that is outside the phone system. If you are calling a number within the system you can just dial the five-digit extension number without dialing 9 first.


ANSWERING OPTIONS

Answer with the handset

Lift the handset.


ENDING A CALL

The handset

Return the handset to the cradle or press EndCall.


TRANSFER TO A PERSON/PHONE

TRANSFER DIRECTLY TO VOICEMAIL


PLACE A CALL ON PARK

HOLDPress the HOLD buttonGUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  . The button will light up red when a call is being held.


RESUME A CALL THAT IS ON HOLD Press the HOLD button againGUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  . The red light will go out when the call is resumed.

ADJUSTING RING VOLUMEPress the VOLUME buttonGUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  while the handset is in the cradle. (This setting is automatically saved.)

HANDSET VOLUMEPress the VOLUME button GUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  while the handset is in use. (You must press the SAVE softkey to save the volume settings.)


MONITORDuring a call, press the Monitor softkey and hang up the handset. This will allow you to hear the caller, but they will not be able to hear you. Pick up the handset and press the MonOff softkey to switch back to your handset.

VIEWING PHONE LOGS Press the MENU buttonGUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  . Select DIRECTORIES. Select the desired directory (Missed Calls, Received Calls, Placed Calls).


SEARCH CORPORATE/SCHOOL DIRECTORYPress the MENU buttonGUIDE TO COMMON PHONE TASKS DIALING OPTIONS  . Select DIRECTORIES. Select DIRECTORY SERVICES. Select CORPORATE DIRECTORIES. Enter the appropriate search criteria.
