Guide to Common Phone Tasks
Use the receiver |
Lift the handset and dial a number. |
Use the softkey |
Press the NewCall softkey and dial a number. |
Dial
with the phone on-hook |
From the main screen, dial the number and then press the Dial softkey. (You will not hear a dial tone until you press the Dial softkey.) Note: If you are dialing with the phone on-hook, you cannot use * or # as the leading digit. If you need to use these keys, dial with the phone off-hook. |
Redial the most recently dialed number |
Press the Redial softkey. |
**You must first dial 9 and then the seven-digit telephone number when dialing a number that is outside the phone system. If you are calling a number within the system you can just dial the five-digit extension number without dialing 9 first.
Answer with the handset |
Lift the handset. |
ENDING A CALL

Return the handset to the cradle or press EndCall. |
During a call, press the Transf softkey. This puts the call on hold.
Dial the number or office extension to which you want to transfer the call.
When it rings on the other end, press Transf again. Or, when the party answers, announce the call and then press Transf. (This is a consult transfer.)
If the party refuses the call, press the HOLD button to return to the original call.
During a call, press the Transf softkey. This puts the call on hold.
Dial extension 8100.
Wait for a message saying “Please enter your party’s extension now”.
Dial the extension for the intended party’s voicemail followed by #2.
When it rings on the other end, press Transf again. If you make a mistake press the HOLD button to return to the original call.
PLACE A CALL ON PARK
During an active call, press the more softkey, then press the Park softkey.
The LCD screen displays the unique call park number where the call is stored.
Make a note of the call park number, and then hang up. The call is parked at that number, allowing you to retrieve it from another phone.
To retrieve the parked call, dial the call park number.
HOLD – Press the HOLD button . The button will light up red when a call is being held.
RESUME A CALL THAT IS ON HOLD – Press the HOLD button again . The red light will go out when the call is resumed.
ADJUSTING RING VOLUME – Press the VOLUME button while the handset is in the cradle. (This setting is automatically saved.)
HANDSET VOLUME – Press the VOLUME button while the handset is in use. (You must press the SAVE softkey to save the volume settings.)
SEARCH CORPORATE/SCHOOL DIRECTORY – Press the MENU button . Select DIRECTORIES. Select DIRECTORY SERVICES. Select CORPORATE DIRECTORIES. Enter the appropriate search criteria.
