CONNECTIONS
Build to Improve the Permanency Hearing Report—Build
Implementation Date has been postponed.
The next phase of the CONNECTIONS Transformation—introduction of the new Permanency Hearing Report (PHR)—will be implemented in mid-March. Lab training began the week of January 16. We have begun to distribute more information about the build and the steps districts and agencies should be undertaking to prepare for implementation and will continue to do so in the coming weeks. All documents are being maintained on both the internet site:
and the intranet site:
We have also begun to add background information on the PHR which might be of interest to administrators and workers. A training course is being offered, entitled: Understanding the New Permanency Hearing Reports within CONNECTIONS.
Important Reminder for iLinc Trainees: Please make sure that trainees enrolling in the iLinc class either take the preliminary class: “Introduction to iLinc” or follow the link to the class at least 15 minutes prior to the start time and go through the software, sound and voice checks. These checks enable trainees to identify and resolve many technical issues with their microphones and headsets prior to the class and to ensure that they have the necessary software on their PC’s to fully participate in the class.
Registration for both classes is now available in STARS at:
The course announcements have been posted on the internet and intranet.

Attached is one document, Practicing Permanency Hearing Report Tasks: Training Application Guide, that provides information on use of the Training Data Base to orient staff to the new PHR functionality. This document was first posted last week.
This Guide will provide information and directions on the appropriate stages to use for practice. The CONNECTIONS Training Application provides a safe environment for you to learn and practice CONNECTIONS skills using simulated case data. The CONNECTIONS Training Application has the look and feel of the Production database. Many districts and voluntary agencies have been assigned a small number of training id’s to enable them to access the Training Data Base.
Several other documents have been included in the weekly bulletin in the past and are posted on the CONNECTIONS Internet and Intranet Transformation pages (see introductory paragraph of this section for links) in the PHR Section of each. These documents include:
PHR Submission Edits Tip Sheet
PHR User Guide for Attorneys
Changes to the Permanency Hearing Report--Business Process Review Guide
PHR Readiness Checklist
PHR Impact Analysis
Hot Keys Tip Sheet
