Absences: After missing a day of class, a student is required to bring a note from home explaining her/his absence. The student must also see her/his teachers to turn in or receive any missed work.

Missing tests must be scheduled when the student first returns to school. If a student does not reschedule a test upon return to school, the teacher will penalize the student 10% points for each day.
Homework will be penalized for lateness for each day late.

Tardiness: Students need to arrive at class before class begins. When students arrive late, it creates distractions to fellow students and their teachers, and may cause them to miss materials. If a student is tardy due to working with another faculty member, they need to bring a note with them from that faculty member.

If a student is chronically tardy, s/he will be marked as tardy to class; can receive lunch detention for excessive tardiness; and can have points marked off their grade for anything missed while tardy.

Behavior in the Halls: Metro students are the face of the school. Their behaviors and actions reflect the schools reputation. There are many visitors throughout the day, and students must remember to reflect the best behaviors a Metro student while in the building.

keep a clear path through Cafe Metro so that students, faculty, and visitors can maneuver through without problem
use appropriate language in school at all times that display their education and maturity
keep cell phones in their pockets, purses, or lockers. If a teacher can visibly see your phone, then it will be given to the administration
refrain from blocking the front door at the end of the school day
be in the auditorium during auditorium sessions.
be in your advisory classroom during advisory period unless you have a note saying otherwise

You can keep track of your grades in the back of a notebook by writing down possible points and points received. (consult each teacher if you have any questions on how to write these down). Grades are cumulative over the course of the semester.
If you fall behind early in the quarter, consult your teacher on how to change your habits.
Each student is different, and each teacher may have a different approach to discipline with those students. Respect the teacher’s decisions, you may consult them about them outside of class, or you may consult the administration.
