By way of my signature, I acknowledge the duties and responsibilities that arise from my designation as an Official pursuant to Section 1 of the Forest and Range Practices Act. I also acknowledge and recognize that my authorities as an Official are automatically extinguished if and when I am no longer employed by the Ministry of Forests and Range and/or when I transfer to another program area within the Ministry of Forests and Range.

All designations will be approved by the ADM. Once approved they will be returned to the C&E Branch Director for distribution.

Procedures for Forest Official Designation

The DCL will recommend authorization as a Forest Official after reviewing the responsibilities and authorities with those staff being recommended.
The DCL will make his/her recommendations to the RCL.
The RCEM will recommend regional staff to the RCL.
The RCL will forward all recommendations to the Branch Director.
The Director, C&E Branch will review and forward recommendations to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) for designation as a Forest Official.
The ADM will provide the designations.
The Director, C&E Branch will retain the originals and keep a file at Branch.
The Director will forward a copy to the recommending responsibility centre where a copy will be placed on the Forest Official’s personnel file and a copy will be provided to the Forest Official.
The RCEM and/or the DCL as the case may be will retain a record of all designations.
Forest Official Designation is automatically extinguished when a person is no longer employed by the Ministry of Forests and Range or transfers to a different program area within the Ministry of Forests and Range.
