1. Mist Net Banding Effort


Between January 14th and November 18st 521 birds of 60 species were banded. There were 175 recaptures of 26 species. Some birds were recaptured more than one time.


The statistics by season and totals for the year are shown in Table 1. See Section 4 for the species list.

24 box-babies were banded at nest-boxes at the Heard and 62 at the Hunt County site HUN5. The by species totals are shown in Table 2.

3. Avian Influenza Swab and Feather Pull Effort


127 birds were swabbed for the LaMMNA avian influenza sampling program. 316 pairs of tail feathers were pulled for the migration tracking program.
