Hardware Connectivity

Software, Database and Content

For any effective e-governance system, there should be a strong foundation of Information Technology infrastructure, up on which only a strong e-governance system can be built up. The main components of this system are connectivity, hardware, software, data base and content. The detailed requirements of these components are specifically stated along with the recommendations of the study given elsewhere in this website.

The requirements as shown in the model, which are self explanatory, are to be satisfied from the view points of employees, customers and the employer, for a better e-governance to be achieved.

e-governance can be termed as successful, only if it satisfies the requirements of the employees such as lesser workload, reduction in working time, achievement of more service efficiency, job satisfaction, productivity and an improvement in the behaviour of the customers towards them.

Customers are sure to consider the e-governance as a success, only if they experience reduction in waiting time and arrival time, more care taken to provide facilities to them and they get a better behaviour from the employees.

The money is spent and efforts taken by the government who is the employer. The government should satisfy themselves that faster disposal of customers, speedy processing of claims and improvement in working environment are achieved. The government should ensure that the employees and customers are satisfied with the system and it should get proper feed back on this at the proper time. The employer has to strictly adhere to the cost effectiveness of the system and the improvement in the performance and efficiency of the department due to the introduction of the new system. It should have an efficient system to constantly review and monitor the system and to take right decisions at the right time. E-governance can be said to be effective, only if the participation by all concerned is ensured during the implementation period.
