Job Title: Student Ambassador
Position Description:
The Evergreen Valley College Student Ambassador Program is a service program where students will learn and develop leadership skills and serve as official representatives of the college in various outreach and programming activities. Student Ambassadors will be active on-campus as well as off-campus, visiting high schools and participating in local/community events. Student Ambassadors will work directly with current and potential EVC students, providing guidance, information, and advice about the programs and services available at Evergreen Valley College.
Qualifications:
Must be registered at EVC for at least 6 units each fall or spring semester that they serve as a Student Ambassador.
Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Must be eligible for Federal Work Study Program and provide verification from EVC Financial Aid office.
Duties:
Assist with the daily operations of a comprehensive college outreach program, which include providing clerical and office support, equipment/room reservation, and answering questions regarding the various services and programs offered through Evergreen Valley College.
Will supervise and train Outreach student volunteer staff.
Assist with campus programs and activities such as orientation, October Spooktacular, Information Stations, and graduation.
Serve as a peer role model, helping other students understand and develop their leadership potential.
Provide campus tours, student follow-ups, and phone banking to prospective students.
Attend and assist with various on-campus and off-campus outreach events in order to provide prospective students with information about Evergreen Valley College.
Visit local high schools and provide presentations to prospective students.
Assist in proctoring off campus assessments.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of student issues at a two year, diverse college campus
Must have a strong commitment to diversity
Ability to work individually and with others
Ability to plan, organize, and lead a variety of activities and events.
Skill of identifying and resolving problems and conflicts
Strong organizational abilities
Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills
Strong attention to detail
Familiar with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to create posters and flyers
Able to work some weekends and evenings
Must have reliable means of transportation to attend off-campus activities.
Beginning Date:
Intensive Summer Training: 15 hours / week during the month of July/August
Regular Work Schedule (10-20 hours / week) beginning Summer or Fall 2014.
