Digi ESP for Python v1.4.0 Installation Instructions

Digi ESP for Python is a set of Python scripts, graphic IDE, samples and tools designed to facilitate the development of iDigi Dia and Python applications for Digi Embedded Gateways and ConnectPort X series. All these components are bundled in an installer available for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.

Digi ESP for Python is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP and Mac OS X (10.6)

Installation Instructions for Windows

Download the installer from the link below and run it. Take into account you will need Administrator permissions to perform the installation. Follow the installation instructions provided through the guided setup. After the install process, Digi ESP for Python will launch automatically and you will be prompted for the workspace folder (i.e. the folder which will contain your projects). The IDE will take you to the Welcome page. Click on “First Steps” then select the most appropriate Getting Started process for your kit or device from the list in order to jumpstart developing with iDigi Dia, Python and your Digi products.

Installation Instructions for Mac

Download the installer from the link below and run it. Take into account you will need Administrator permissions to perform the installation. Execute the Digi_ESP_for_Python_1_4_installer.mpkg file located inside the DMG image. Follow the installation instructions provided through the guided setup. The installation process will create a new folder under Applications called “DigiPython”. Within this folder is a link to the Digi ESP for Python IDE. Launch the Digi ESP for Python by clicking on the link and enter your workspace (i.e. the folder which will contain your projects). The IDE will take you to the Welcome page. Click on “First Steps” then select the most appropriate Getting Started process for your kit or device from the list in order to jumpstart developing with iDigi Dia, Python and your Digi products.
