Dear Meadow Lane Parent/Guardian,
The staff of Meadow Lane believes that strong parental involvement is vital to the education and success of students, and contributes significantly to school achievement. In keeping with this belief, our Title I program encourages and promotes parental involvement as an integral part of students’ success. We are therefore committed to effective communication among family, school and community to build a rewarding and successful educational experience for all of our students. Parental involvement will be encouraged and incorporated through the plan outlined below.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact a member of our Title I Department. We will be happy to assist you in any way possible. Thank you
Parents will be invited to attend an annual meeting to be held during a regularly scheduled PTA meeting. In addition, information will be provided on an on-going basis through various meetings and notices.
Through procedures and resources established by Wayne County Public Schools for staff, students and parents, we will all acknowledge our joint roles in promoting student success.
We will offer meaningful parent workshops at various times/days (morning, afternoon, evening). Advisory Council meetings will be held at lunch time, and PTA Board meetings in the late afternoon or evening.
We will make resource materials available for parents to use with children at home. These may be checked-out from the MLE Parent Resource Center.
Parents will have input and decision making opportunities through surveys, Parent Advisory Council, PTA Board and the school Leadership Team. In addition, meetings with administration are welcomed.
We strive to keep parents well informed of programs, curriculum, student progress, academic assessments, and levels of proficiency through: Grade level meetings, parent/teacher conferences, Power Source parent resources, phone calls, report cards, notes, school newsletters and other parent notes/notices.
Two parents will be asked to serve on the district-wide Title I Parent Advisory Council and report back to our school Parent Advisory Council at meetings held throughout the year.
Parent newsletters and other parent correspondence will be made available in Spanish and/or other languages as needed.
Parent/Student/Teacher compacts will be utilized to identify the vital roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders.
