Dutchman Creek Middle School Cheerleading

Dear Parents:

We are pleased that your student has an interest in Dutchman Creek Middle School Cheer. This letter will provide you and your child with important information and expectations for being a DCMS Cheerleader.

The purpose of cheerleading is to promote interest, enthusiasm and encourage school spirit and sportsmanship during games and other school related events. As a member of the Dutchman Creek Cheerleading Squad, each member will enhance their performance in becoming a student-athlete along with developing mature decision-making habits, team-building and problem-solving skills.

Academics are an important aspect of athletics at DCMS and each cheerleader is required to maintain a credible academic record. Each cheerleader should maintain an overall C+ average or better in all courses. There will be required study sessions and remediation/tutoring for cheerleaders throughout the academic school year.

Practice is a necessary part of being a productive cheerleader. If your student becomes a part of DCMS Cheer team, each cheerleader will be required to attend practice 2 times a week after school. Practice will be approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. Each cheerleader will also be required to attend outside events in reference to cheerleading including but not limited to: clinics, camps, high school athletic events, etc.

I look forward to try-outs with your student and am willing to provide any information pertaining to cheerleading for her. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best of Luck!

-Coach B
