  1. Contact shore support; inform when leaving dock and obtain lat/long of glider.


  1. Lat/long updates can be obtained via cell text, iridium text, or phone calls.


  1. Obtain Freewave communication w/ glider once vessel is in range.


  1. Obtain lat/long by typing command “where”.


  1. Recover glider (various methods). Cart can be used, tail may be handled/roped, etc. Exercise care with optical sensors and wings, as these can be easily damaged.


  1. Inform shore support that glider is recovered – “The bear is in the igloo.”


  1. Perform CTD comparison cast; note instrument type. (Currently YSI Castaway or SBE 19). Note lat/long of CTD cast.


  1. When instructed, remove green plug and insert red plug. Secure glider for transport.
