Consent to Participate in a Research Study

Welcome to the INTERNET ACTIVITIES Survey

Dr. Sarita Schoenebeck of the University of Michigan, School of Information invites you to be a part of a research study that looks at parents and their Internet use. We are interested in websites for parents. The purpose of this study is to design better online sites for caregivers.

If you agree to be part of the research study, you will be asked to complete an online survey about your preferences. We expect this survey to take 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

While you may not receive any direct benefit for participating, we hope that this study will contribute to the improvement of parent activities.

There is minimal risk associated with participating in this survey.

You will be given a $6 Amazon gift card for being in the study.

We will ask for your email address in order to compensate you for your time. We plan to publish the results of this study, but will not include any information that would identify you. We will store the data you provide on password-protected computers for up to five years. The data will only be accessed by members of the research team.

Participating in this study is completely voluntary. Even if you decide to participate now, you may change your mind and stop at any time. You may choose to not answer an individual question or you may skip any section of the survey. Simply click “Next” at the bottom of the survey page to move to the next question.

If you have questions about this research study, you can contact Sarita Schoenebeck, Ph.D., University of Michigan, School of Information, 4389 North Quad, Ann Arbor, MI 48109, (734) 764-8677, [email protected].
