Appendix A must be completed and attached to any application involving based research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Applicants should refer to the NHMRC guidelines “Values and Ethics - Guidelines for Ethical Conduct in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research” (http://www.health.gov.au/nhmrc/publications/synopses/e52syn.htm), the National Statement Chapter 4.7, and the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Guidelines for Ethical Research in Australian Indigenous Studies (http://www.aiatsis.gov.au/research/docs/GERAISjune2011.pdf).
